I have always been drawn to the metaphysical, for as long as I can remember.
Before I was ten years old, I was digging through astrology books at my great-grandmother’s house. The moment I learned what Tarot was, I had a deck. On a high school band trip to Montana, I bought a palm-reading book in a grocery store and immediately got to work reading my friends' palms on the bus.
But for a long time, there was a piece of the story I didn't talk about: I have always seen auras.
I didn't actually know it was an unusual gift until I was serving in the U.S. Navy. I mentioned it in passing to a friend, who looked at me blankly and said, "What? You see colors around people?" That was the exact moment I realized not everyone did.
After the Navy, I went to college. Every once in a while, I’d pull out palm reading as a party trick, but by my mid-twenties, I was focused on being a corporate professional. I put my gifts to the side and focused on climbing the ladder. Even so, the research never stopped; I never ceased reading and studying the metaphysical.
Years later, while living in Charlotte, North Carolina, the pull came back. It was this persistent, nagging voice telling me to start meditating, to find others, to get into community, and to start helping people. Charlotte is known for its vortexes, and I think a lot of people pass through there on their way to an awakening. Still, I was "busy," so I ignored it.
Then, I lost my job.
As soon as I got my wits about me, I listened. That very week, I found a Beginning Intuition class just north of the city in Cornelius.
From there, everything opened up. I found incredible mentors and teachers. I studied Tarot formally, got certified in Usui Reiki, learned sound healing from a close friend I shared an office with, and became certified in the EMF Balancing Technique. Most impactfully, we built a community. We shared dinners, stories, and our gifts with each other and our clients. I built a successful healing practice there, participated in psychic fairs, and established deep roots with mentors I am still close with today.
I was born and raised here in Rapid City. I left as soon as I could, but the Black Hills have a way of calling you back. I have a personal theory that the massive deposits of granite and quartz here have a profound energetic effect on the people who live among them.
I finally returned home in 2023. Now, I am looking to build that same sense of vibrant, genuine community right here. Radiant Hearts Healing is here to offer that space, to fulfill my own life’s purpose, and to help you step fully into yours.
